The weekend of the 16th-17th of May 2015 Second Floor Studios & Arts (where my studio is located) have opened their doors to the public for Open Studios. It is a great way for friends, family, other studio members and the public to wander around the site to view work from varying disciplines as well as meeting the artists themselves and get an in depth look into their creative world.
I hosted a live-art session in my studio. I took large rolls of paper and secured them to the walls of my studio. I have given people a space for them to express themselves. People of all ages were in my studio and drawing on the walls and mark making. The idea was to create a safe space where people could engage with their inner child. Kids loved it and the adults found the act of doodling and colouring in very therapeutic.
